Scenario 2 Miss Know It All

Karen felt entitled to senority and whatever position she wanted because she had been doing this for a while, so she figured. Now when Karen went to result a 2 minute pregnancy test she told the head medical doctor that it was negative after just 30 seconds! The medical assistant that had just started told Karen that her test had actually been positive after the 2 minute timeframe that it was supposed to run. Karen would not acknowledge the mistake because of her pride. The medical assistant had to go to the lead clinician and tell her what happened or the patient could leave and put her baby at risk with an alcoholic beverage or medication, or anything! DONT BE A KAREN! Be HUMBLE and FOREVER LEARNING because mistakes do happen. That is why there are many people that have to help out in any given practice in the medical field.
